Meat and Greet event on the farm
On Saturday, July 7, we hosted our first ever 'Meat and Greet' event here on Old Holler Farm. Our expectations were somewhat limited due to that fact that we decided to organize this event only a week or so prior...however, the event turned out to be a success!
Our mission for the Meat and Greet event was to invite the community out to visit the farm, meet the animals, and learn about our sustainable farming practices and see how our animals are raised. We offered special pricing on our grass-fed beef, and had Old Holler Farm hats and coffee mugs available for purchase as well.
The coffee mugs were hand thrown by my Aunt and Uncle and designed using a tree bark mold from an actual tree on our farm, complete with the Old Holler Farm logo.
The Old Holler Farm hats were hand-stitched by my wife and Aunt.
Our neighboring farm brought fresh flowers to sell and perfectly ripe blueberries for our guests to snack on.
We had bags of 'sweet feed' available for guests to feed the goats....let's just say...the goats REALLY enjoyed this event! It was so much fun watching the kids feed the goats!
We also offered hayride tours of the farm, as well as our new wedding and events venue. The feedback we received from everyone was amazing! We have been working hard to restore our farm and renovate the historic cabin and new reception barn and it's always nice to hear people say how beautiful it is! We can't help but agree! ;) (wink wink)
Thanks so much to everyone who came to our first ever 'Meat and Greet' event here at Old Holler Farm! We are so incredibly blessed with the support we continue to receive from our local community and we definitely plan to host another event like this later this year.
